Colour Pop

Public Art Commission in Stairfoot

In June of 2020 we started work on Colour Pop, a Principle Towns project in Stairfoot, Barnsley, to create an ambitious artistic intervention that would develop positivity in the local area and celebrate its identity and heritage. Stairfoot has a thriving industrial heritage and once had an impressive infrastructure of railways and canals; it was the arch and bridge structure from this impressive transport system that formed the starting point for our work. 

Our artwork comprises of three colourful and hand painted, 4m tall freestanding sculptural pieces accompanied by an adjacent interactive floor painted design on the tarmac surface. During the spring months we will be completing the sculptures ready for installation in Summer 2022.  We are very much looking forward to the distinct vibrant contribution that Colour Pop will make to the Stairfoot area.
