Totems
Just a stones throw from our studio is a small swathe of woodland that stretches towards Brownhill Reservoir and the moorland beyond. It is a densely populated woodland that is ever changing, marking the shifts and changes of the passing seasons. With the fade of winter, the lush green mosses and the fallen leaves hold forth, oozing form and colour.
With our passion for creating and placing work in outdoor environments, we were excited to create these three painted sculptures to place in the woodland. Each of the pieces is handpainted with the same colour palette along with meandering posca lines which bonds them together as a family. We love the way the painted colours appear more vibrant than ever in this setting and the way that the wooden posts feel like they have returned to their original habitat.
This simple installation has kick started a whole raft of other ideas that we hope to explore over the coming months.
